I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 1995; it was very painful and frightening for me as a single mom and artist. These x-rays inspired me to use my art to approach the disease in a therapeutic and positive way… the butterflies symbolizing healing. As a result of new research and medicine, my condition is manageable, and much of the damage has reversed. I consider myself very blessed.
