PORTABELLA ROAD SERIES

This series of images was taken while visiting the Portabella Road weekend market in London. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and there were many people shopping at the variety of stalls and fascinating shops along the street. I was inspired to capture the fun, invigorating energy of the place and the people there. My Holga film camera allowed me to shoot medium format film and double expose each frame. If you look closely, you can see that almost every frame has a vertical and a horizontal image within it. Notice the man riding his bicycle through the mirror ball at the center of the piece. The mirror ball was inside a shop window. I shot that first and then turned, and shot the biker on top of it. Enjoy finding all there is to see!
